Job Summary: The Director of Store Operations Models and Profitability is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing the financial and operational performance of store-level pay, compensation programs, and profitability initiatives. This individual will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement pay strategies, bonus structures, and operational models that align with business objectives, optimize efficiency, and drive revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Payroll Management:
    • Run weekly and monthly reporting to ensure that payroll spend is within budget as per the forecast established with the board.
    • Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure that pay and bonus data is accurate and aligns with the company’s compensation and benefits programs.
    • Analyze and report on payroll trends to identify opportunities for cost management and efficiency improvements.
  2. Bonus and Incentive Program Management:
    • In collaboration with HR and Finance, assist in the design of store-level bonus and incentive programs that drive performance, improve productivity, and align with business goals.
    • Operationalize payouts of incentive programs, including monthly and quarterly bonuses. Ensure that bonuses and incentive plans are competitive, motivating, and aligned with company objectives and store-level performance.
    • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of bonus programs, making recommendations for enhancements to maximize results.
  3. Operations Modeling and Optimization:
    • Develop and refine operational models that optimize labor scheduling, staffing levels, and productivity across stores.
    • Utilize data analytics and operational metrics to identify opportunities for cost savings, efficiency improvements, and profit maximization in store operations.
    • Work with store managers and leadership teams to implement best practices in labor management, inventory control, and overall store operations.
  4. Profitability Analysis and Strategy:
    • Lead profitability analysis efforts at the store level, focusing on key drivers of revenue and expenses.
    • Work with senior leadership to establish financial goals and operational benchmarks for profitability at the store level.
    • Develop actionable insights and recommendations based on financial performance data to improve store profitability and overall financial health.
    • Partner with finance and operations teams to track, analyze, and report on the effectiveness of profitability initiatives and cost management strategies.
  5. Team Leadership and Collaboration:
    • Foster collaboration across finance, HR, store operations, and other relevant departments to achieve company-wide goals.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 7+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis, budget modeling,  store operations, or financial management.
    • Experience with multi-unit retailers and front line sales forces.
    • Strong background in financial analysis, budget management, and profitability modeling.
  • Skills:
    • Advanced proficiency in financial analysis tools, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Experience in implementing and optimizing operational models for efficiency and profitability.

At David’s Bridal, it is rare for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range in their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the details and circumstances of each position and candidate.
